Upon their arrival, Kate was greeted 10-year-old, Lydia Jones, who presented her with a posy of flowers picked from the garden of the Royal Variety Charity's residential home. This year they have named the garden, "Frosty Winter Garden."
William was welcomed by eight-year-old, Oliver Hinton. He presented the Duke with the programme for the night, which he took with him as he headed to watch the show from the Royal Box.
Before and after the event the couple were given the opportunity meet with the performers. During their chat with the cast of "Mary Poppins," Williams tells them, "I love Mary Poppins."
Kate also shared that her children were excited that their parents were going to watch people singing and dancing at the Royal Variety Performance.
Kate admits that the young royals were hoping to join her and William but she had to turn them down saying:
"Not on a school night."
The event was hosted by Rob Beckett and Ramesh Ranganathan. This is Kate's third time attending. Last Year Prince Harry and a pregnant Meghan Markle attended the show.
