According to reports by PEOPLE magazine, Kate Middleton opted for an early birthday celebration over the weekend as she and Prince William hosted family and close friends at their country home at Anmer Hall in Norfolk.

As noted by the publication, the royal mom-of-three and her husband were joined her parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, William’s close friend, Tom Van Straubenzee, and his fiancee Lucy Lanigan-O’Keeffe.

The couple’s close friends David and Rose, the Marquess and Marchioness of Cholmondeley, were also in attendance.

To cap off the celebration, the partygoers and the Cambridges joined Queen Elizabeth for Sunday morning service at St. Mary Magdalene Church at Her Majesty’s Sandringham estate.

The early birthday celebration coincides with William and Kate’s annual tradition of setting aside a weekend at the start of the year to entertain their friends and family for a few days of fun country pursuits.

Also, the weekend usually includes a dinner hosted by the Queen at Sandringham. However, this time was different.

As noted by the Daily Mail, the Duchess celebrated her 37th birthday differently as she chose to have a family tea party at Kensington Palace.
