Born in December 1948, Ozzy has been a musician since 1967 when he joined bassist Geezer Butler for the band Rare Breed. Unfortunately, their collaboration didn’t last, and they broke up after two shows.

"It's like you have a good day, a good day, and then a really bad day."

OZZY OSBOURNE’S CAREER

Geezer and Ozzy got back together, and that time they had guitarist Tony Iommi and drummer Bill Ward with them. The first name of their band was Polka Tulk Blues Band, but then changed to Earth.

However, there was another music group with that name, so they eventually changed it to Black Sabbath, and it was probably the best decision in their early careers.

Nowadays, the band is described as pioneers of heavy metal as their lyrics, music, and shows helped define how the genre was supposed to be. Ozzy Osbourne left the band in 1978 to pursue a solo career back came back three months later.

However, in April 1979, he was fired because, according to the rest of the members of Black Sabbath, he was unreliable, and his substance addiction was too much for them to bear.

OZZY AND BLIZZARD OF OZZ

Ozzy’s music career didn’t stop there as he then formed Blizzard of Ozz with drummer Lee Kerslake, bassist Bob Daisley, keyboardist Don Airey, and guitarist Randy Rhoads.

That band was as successful as Black Sabbath, earning multi-platinum records and albums and selling out his shows.

Unfortunately, Randy, the band’s tour bus driver Andrew, and the costume and make-up designer Rachel died in a plane accident in March 1982.

Ozzy dealt with depression for a long time after losing Randy, but he kept himself busy going on tours and recording more albums. At the moment, Ozzy Osbourne is considered one of the most representative men in the heavy metal genre.
