The Jasmine Brand: Ne-Yo's Wife Crystal Smith Is Allegedly Planning to File for Divorce after Nearly 4 Years of Marriage

Ne-Yo and his wife Crystal Smith have allegedly split up after only four years of marriage, as Crystal prepares to file for divorce.

The Jasmine Brand first reported that Ne-Yo and his wife Crystal are no longer a couple, as they've been having issues for quite a while. It turns out, it's not Ne-Yo that called it quits, with sources saying that their split's headed for divorce.

"Crystal left him. She's had enough."

AN UPCOMING DIVORCE CASE

As for when Smith is filing for divorce, the source added that it's coming "very, very soon," which seems like a done deal at this point, with no chances of reconciliation.

Whatever they were going through as a couple was just too much to bear for Crystal.

LOOKING BACK AT THEIR MARRIAGE

Ne-Yo and Crystal Smith got married in 2016, and together, share two children. They welcomed their son Shaffer Chimere Smith Jr. in the same year, followed by their second son, Roman Alexander-Raj Smith in 2018.

Since news of their split came to light, fans also began to notice that Smith had deleted every photo of the singer on her Instagram, and realized that there were cryptic messages about their split since 2019.

A SERIES OF TROUBLES

As they entered 2020, Ne-Yo acknowledged through his New Year post that they had bumps and bruises in the past year.

"2019 had its bumps and bruises, yes sure, but it's not about the difficulty, it's about one's ability to realize when something is worth fighting for and one's willingness to push thru to the potential greatness of a situation."

TOO MUCH TO HANDLE

In the end, Ne-Yo shared that they were "perfect for each other." Unfortunately, it seems whatever they were going through as a couple was just too much to bear for Crystal, which led to her calling it quits.

Before the downfall of their relationship, Ne-Yo and Crystal would make the most of the time they spent together, taking their kids out on fun adventures whenever they can.

Despite their alleged separation, they are set to co-parent their children in the best way they can and this is hopefully something that will inspire them to stay in good terms with one another.
