According to The Famous People, the rapper was born on December 31, 1978, in Bedford-Stuyvesant, New York City.

Since severing ties with Jive Records in 2007, Papoose released a number of free mixtapes that garnered considerable interest before eventually releasing his debut album, "The Nacirema Dream."

Papoose expressed his interest in music at a very tender age of 11 when he wrote his first rap. Gradually, the name Papoose became more than just a nickname as the artist ascended in his music career.
