Idris Elba's Wife Sabrina Gets Tested for COVID-19 after Her Husband's Diagnosis

Days after Idris Elba tested positive for Coronavirus, the actor has revealed that his wife, Sabrina, has also been tested for the virus.

In a live Twitter video on Tuesday, Idris Elba revealed that his wife, Sabrina Dhowre, was tested in the early hours of Tuesday and was awaiting her test results.

In the video, the 47-year-old actor explained that although Sabrina was feeling good physically, she was a tad bit worried and nervous.

Speaking on what it has been like since he announced the news of his diagnosis, Elba explained that his wife was not used to the spotlight, and it was a bit too much for her to have been criticized by people.

After Idris's announcement of his diagnosis, people took to their social media pages to criticize Sabrina, who had been beside him in the video. He stated that this made her sad just as much as it made him.

Idris clarified the situation explaining that Sabrina decided she wanted to be by his side, and he loved her even more for that.

He described the past 24 hours for them as good and bad. Explaining, Idris said it was terrible because he tested positive for the Coronavirus but that it had been good because it opened up a lot of perspective about the virus.

The actor added that he felt all the love he had received from fans, and he and Sabrina believed making the announcement was the right thing to do, given that he isn't the only one going through it.

Idris and Sabrina got married in April 2019 in Marrakech, Morocco.

He shared that he was proud of Tom Hanks for coming out to share news of their diagnosis. Idris admitted that he was motivated by the transparency Hanks gave the situation.

The "Luther" star also gave an update about his health in the video. He shared that he was feeling okay, and he wasn't having any issue with his asthma yet.

Speaking on whether he was worried about the situation, Elba revealed that he was worried he had the virus and that he was concerned about his asthma because he believed it could make things complicated for him.

On Monday, Elba took to his social media pages to break the news of his diagnosis. According to him, he didn't experience any symptoms before his test. However, he decided to take the test after someone he had been in contact with recently tested positive for Coronavirus.

Idris and Sabrina met in 2016 during the production of "The Mountain Between Us" in Canada. The couple got married in April 2019 in Marrakesh, Morocco.
