Speaking on what it has been like since he announced the news of his diagnosis, Elba explained that his wife was not used to the spotlight, and it was a bit too much for her to have been criticized by people.

After Idris's announcement of his diagnosis, people took to their social media pages to criticize Sabrina, who had been beside him in the video. He stated that this made her sad just as much as it made him.

Idris clarified the situation explaining that Sabrina decided she wanted to be by his side, and he loved her even more for that.

He described the past 24 hours for them as good and bad. Explaining, Idris said it was terrible because he tested positive for the Coronavirus but that it had been good because it opened up a lot of perspective about the virus.

The actor added that he felt all the love he had received from fans, and he and Sabrina believed making the announcement was the right thing to do, given that he isn't the only one going through it.

Idris and Sabrina got married in April 2019 in Marrakech, Morocco.

He shared that he was proud of Tom Hanks for coming out to share news of their diagnosis. Idris admitted that he was motivated by the transparency Hanks gave the situation.

The "Luther" star also gave an update about his health in the video. He shared that he was feeling okay, and he wasn't having any issue with his asthma yet.

Speaking on whether he was worried about the situation, Elba revealed that he was worried he had the virus and that he was concerned about his asthma because he believed it could make things complicated for him.
