Sharing the details of her yellow and pink gown, Busia revealed that it was made by Ghanaian fashion designer, VanVorsh, one of her go-to fashion choices.
The 53-year-old was born in Ghana and spends most of the time in her home country. It is reported, she also has a home in the United States.
In February, she shared a story about a run-in she had with a friend, who reminded her about the 35th anniversary for "The Color Purple." The friend told her that it was playing in theatres again.
Admitting that she had forgotten about the anniversary, her friend urged her to do something in remembrance of the movie, to which she dug up some rarely seen throwback pictures from behind the scenes of the movie.
Busia was married to John Singleton in 1996 and divorced after a year of marriage. The couple had a daughter together named Hadar Busia-Singleton. Showing off her daughter with her former co-star, she wrote:
"My Hadar just landed from Brazil; a double dose of happy to see Danny Glover surprise her, hanging with her mama."
Shortly after Singleton's death, his daughter, Hadar, shared a throwback picture of him kissing her on the cheek when she was a baby.
It is reported, the two were very close, and in her tribute to her father, she admitted that she missed his "sloppy kiss."
