Tom Hanks and Wife Rita Wilson Return to LA Home After Coronavirus Quarantine in Australia
Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson continue self-isolation after returning home to the US following their time in Australia where they tested positive for the coronavirus earlier this month.
Back in the United States, Tom Hanks updated fans on his and wife Rita Wilson's health while also taking the time to thank those who looked after them in Australia.

In a post the 63-year-old actor shared to Twitter on Saturday, he said that they are continuing to self-quarantine after arriving back in the US, and added:
"Thanks to everyone in Australia who looked after us. Many thanks to all of you who reached out. Rita and I so appreciate it. Hanx."
Tom and Rita went to Australia for respective work obligations. Rita performed at the Sydney Opera House, while Tom joined filming of the new Elvis Presley biopic. Directed by Baz Luhrmann, the movie's production is currently on ice amid the coronavirus pandemic.
While in the land down under, the couple started experiencing body aches and they "felt a bit tired." While Rita and Tom only had "slight fevers" and intermittent chills, they decided to get themselves tested.
After receiving their positive results, the pair became the first celebrities to publically reveal their coronavirus diagnosis on March 12 and consequently spent time in a Queensland hospital.
Released from the hospital last Monday, Tom and Rita continued their recovery at their home in Australia before reportedly returning to the US on a private jet on Friday.
The couple remained under quarantine, and Leslee Dart, Tom's rep told PEOPLE ahead of their arrival that Rita and Tom are "doing very well," and added:
“Their recovery is very much on course for healthy adults with this virus. They are feeling better each day.”
During their time in self-isolation in Australia, Tom's updates on social media often included his feelings of appreciation towards healthcare workers.
A few days after testing positive, Tom sent his "thanks to the Helpers" and included a picture of two pieces of toast lined with a savory spread called Vegemite alongside a glass of water.
However, the picture soon drew some humorous comments, as his son, Colin joked in a Tweet:
Famed celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay wondered if Tom missed "a little butter on that Vegemite," and author Jane Caro offered her take on the perfect toast to Vegemite ratio as she quipped:
From sharing their experiences with the disease, and advice, to contributing in other ways, celebrities are reaching out a helping hand where they can during this challenging time.
Most recently, actress Angelina Jolie donated a substantial amount of money to combat child hunger as the spreading virus puts pressure on the ever-growing problem worldwide.

In a statement, Angelina reportedly said that children across the world depend on the food they receive during school hours.
With nearly 22 million children in the US alone not currently in school, they are not getting the daily nutrition they need. Therefore, Angelina decided to donate $1 million in their aid.
