Iain Armitage is no stranger to fame and fortune after taking up the job to star on "Young Sheldon" two years ago. A spin-off of the "Big Bang Theory," the show became a hit soon after its premiere.

Armitage plays a young Sheldon Cooper from the popular series, which went on for 12 seasons. In an interview with CBSN Los Angeles, Armitage says he's coming along well for his part.

IAIN TALKS ABOUT THE NEXT EPISODE

Speaking to Matt Weiss, the young star talked about the filming disruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Luckily, the last episode — episode 21 — was a good place to stop, he noted.

Since he's not working, Armitage has a lot more spare time on his hands. Weiss inquired about new hobbies. "I've been juggling a lot and I've been playing a lot," revealed the actor.

As for how his character, Sheldon, might deal with the situation, Armitage said he'd probably be crying about his Lysol or freaking out in some other way. He's not sure, though.

THE FAVORITE PART OF HIS JOB

One thing the pre-teen knows for sure is that he enjoys playing the future physicist. Speaking on the upcoming episode for this week, Armitage said he'd be annoying Mary, his older crush.

"It's going to be a good old-fashioned Sheldon pestering someone episode," said the actor. When asked if he enjoys playing Sheldon in that state, Armitage responded: "Oh yeah! I love pestering people."

IAIN'S COMMENDABLE HISTORY

In 2017, "Young Sheldon" broke records when it garnered almost 17 million views with just the preview. Back then, Armitage already had something to his name.

Before moving to television, the young boy ran a YouTube channel in which he reviewed plays, songs from musicals, and magicians. Armitage originally wanted to be a famous magician.

HIS RISE TO 'YOUNG SHELDON' FAME

He was discovered on the media platform in 2014 by agent Jamie Pillet. Born to parents who both did theater, Armitage's most notable small screen debut was as Ziggy Chapman on "Big Little Lies."

Jim Parsons, who plays the original Sheldon in "Big Bang," has commented on his young replacement. "It was kind of mind-blowing to see him brought to life through Iain," he once told ET.

In "Young Sheldon," Armitage is in high school alongside his teenage brother, George. The show takes place in East Texas. Zoe Perry plays the role of mom, while Lance Barber plays his dad.

REBA MCENTIRE SHARES THROWBACK

Back in February, Armitage got to meet country superstar Reba McEntire who guest-starred on the series for the first time. Later on, the singer took to Instagram to give fans a rare throwback.

After being inspired by the show, McEntire took to Instagram for Valentine's Day and shared a photo of her and some friends all dressed in dazzling outfits — except for the singer who was in solid blue.

The photo was an ode to "Galentine's Day," the new term created for ladies who decided to spend Valentine's Day with their girlfriends instead of their male partners or friends.
