Tichina Arnold of 'The Neighborhood' Remembers Her 1st Year of Motherhood with a Throwback Photo

Tichina Arnold recalls her first year as a mother in a cute throwback photo of her and daughter, Alijah Kai looking hip in their summer looks.

It’s been 15 years since Tichina Arnold became a mother for the first time and the actress recently revived the memory of that first year in a throwback post. Tichina delighted in a cute photo of her and Alijah Kai, taken back in 2004 when her only child was a mere toddler.

“My first year being a mommy,” she wrote to caption the pic of mother and daughter looking fashionable in their summer wear.

Tichina wore a strapless printed top tied around the neck and a pair of light sunglasses. Meanwhile, Alijah looked adorable wearing a grass skirt and pink floral bra top. Just like her momma, Alijah wore sunglasses too.

Tichina makes sure Alijah grows up prepared for the world. In 2016, the star of “The Neighborhood” revealed she is selfless when it comes to being a mother.

At the time, Tichina had yet to develop the strong bond she now shares with Alijah. Apart from their love for singing, Tichina recently shared that she’s also her daughter’s driving coach.

The single mom would often share clips of their driving lessons and some are hilarious. At one point, Tichina mouthed “Help me” to her followers when her daughter suddenly swerved from the road while fixing her blouse.

Many are also familiar with the duo’s famous duets. They can break out into song at any moment, including while finding a parking spot.

Single motherhood has never been so sweet seeing how Tichina and Alijah get along. And especially after The “Martin” star admitted that it was a challenge to raise her child alone and juggle it with her showbiz commitments.

"The number one thing that I learned was to ask for help," she told Oprah in 2018. "It's almost impossible to be a mother by yourself. It's almost impossible to do alone."

Fortunately, Tichina had the help of her mother and sister. They filled the void left by Alijah’s father, music producer, Carvin Haggins.

Moreover, Tichina makes sure Alijah grows up prepared for the world. In 2016, the star of “The Neighborhood” revealed she is selfless when it comes to being a mother.

As such, she thinks of her daughter’s welfare first before her own. One of the selfless things she vowed to do is to only accept projects that her daughter can watch.
