When a legend of his stature celebrates such a birthday, the tributes and greetings are sure to flood in. First amongst the celebrity tributes was Stephanie Mills, the famous singer and Broadway actress.

Diana Ross also got in on the tributes, sharing a throwback video of herself and Stevie working in the studio. The video showed Diana and Stevie working on the iconic track, "We Are The World." In her captions, she said, "I Love You Always."

Of course, any celebration that Stevie is involved in will be a blast. The hitmaker has churned several classic tunes, including "I Just Called to Say I Love You" and "Signed, Sealed, Delivered."

Some of those songs have played defining roles in shaping the careers of many. Pointing out his influence, Mariah Carey said in her tribute:

"The Genius that is Stevie Wonder. We LOVE and appreciate you forever. Thank you for the soundtrack to my life. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ #steviewonder @swfamily24"

Sadly, unlike his wedding ceremony, he wouldn't be able to gather all his friends and family for a celebration. However, Stevie didn't let the lockdown get to him. Instead of throwing a lavish party, he celebrated his birthday via an Instagram jam session.

The session began on Wednesday night and will run for 24 hours. It will involve several celebrity DJs, including DJ D-Nice, Questlove, and DJTara, and Giles Peterson. All of them will take shifts, churning out some of Stevie's best tunes for a full day.
