Omar Epps' Daughter K'mari Brought Mom Keisha to Tears with Her Mother's Day Post

The R&B singer shared a heart-melting message the teenage daughter she shares with her husband wrote for her on Mother’s Day, admitting that it had brought her to tears.

48-year-old singer Keisha Epps, a former member of the R&B band Total, was deeply touched by the words her 15-year-old daughter K’mari had to honor her and thank her for being an incredible mother.

Taking to her Instagram feed, Keisha reposted her daughter’s Mother’s Day message that featured a picture of the two of them hugging during an outdoor concert.

Adding that she was blessed “to be chosen” by K’mari, Keisha quoted her daughter’s original caption, which included:

“I’m beyond blessed to have u as my mom & best friend. Someone so beautiful inside & out, strong, kind, inspiring, supportive, and loving...”

K’mari continued by expressing her gratitude towards Keisha, celebrating the special bond the mother and daughter have, apart from promising to never take what her mother does for granted.

“This woman deserves the absolute world and more and I promise to give her nothing but that in return,” the loving daughter added.

LOVE STORY

Keisha has been married to the 46-year-old “Resurrection” star Omar Epps in 2006, two years after they welcome K’mari in July 2004.

Even though it was Omar’s first marriage, he was already the father of Aiyanna Yasmine from a previous relationship.

Ever since the two became an item, Omar and Keisha have been one of the favorite couples of photographers during red carpet events, where they have posed together for more than a decade already.

In 2007, when Keisha became pregnant for the second time, she flaunted her beautiful baby bump at the Emmy Awards red carpet. On December 25 of that year, the couple’s only son, Amir, was born.

And while both of their children together are already teenagers, Keisha and Omar look like they haven’t aged a bit since they started dating. Talk about love keeping us young!

After nearly 15 years together, Omar is certain that the relationship has achieved a whole new level, and he is sure that their mutual commitment will see them grow old together happily.

“For us, we took breaking up off the table. That changed the whole dynamic of how we argue, solve problems, everything. It changes everything during the tough times,” Omar told Black Doctor in an interview.

MEMOIR

In 2018, Omar took a deep look back on his life journey and self-published a memoir he gave the title “From Fatherless to Fatherhood,” on which he recalls growing up without a father.

As Omar shared, his father left his mother before the future actor could even remember him, something that haunted Omar all his life until he became a father as well.

The experience was tough, but it taught him to always be there for his children even when he has led a very busy career in Hollywood.

In the book, Omar also acknowledges the influence of two powerful women in his life: his mother Bonnie and his wife.

“Keisha taught me how to smell the roses, which is one of the most important things in life,” Omar told Hollywood Reporter while discussing his book.

“I've learned how to become present because I'm an artist. I'm constantly in my head and she's helped me be more present. She loves hard ... and she's taught me a lot, about everything,” Omar added.
