Matt Damon Says It's like Fairy Tale in Ireland Where He's Stuck Amid the COVID-19 Crisis

Actor Matt Damon has been living in Ireland since the novel coronavirus pandemic hit the country. In an interview, the actor said that "it feels a little like a fairy tale" there.

Matt, 49, showed up on Spin 1083's "Fully Charged with Graham & Nathan" radio show as of late. During the discussion, the acclaimed actor opened up about his self-isolation in Dalkey, Ireland, with his family.

"It's incredible. It's one of the most beautiful places we've ever been," Matt said. "We've got this incredible setup in this place, and it's absolutely gorgeous."

A FAIRY TALE

"There's trees and forests and woods and ocean — I can't think of a place you'd rather want to be within a 2-kilometer radius of," Matt added. "It's ridiculous. It feels a little like a fairy tale here."

As reported by PEOPLE, Matt was shooting the film "The Last Duel" on location when the novel coronavirus lockdowns set in. He had to remain abroad to wait it out.

Matt is currently with his wife, Luciana, and three of their daughters — Stella, 9, Gia, 11, and Isabella, 13. The actor's eldest child, Alexia, 21, is in New York City.

TESTED POSITIVE

Alexia has now recovered after she was tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease. According to Matt, his daughter had the deadly virus really early on, alongside her roommates.

Matt added that they're going to go back to Los Angeles and Alexia is going to come out, so they'll all be together.

HIS LIFE IN IRELAND

On March 27, Matt was captured posing outside a cafe and in a restaurant with fans before lockdown started in Ireland. He was also spotted going swimming near Dalkey, as reported by Daily Mail.

The actor has also reportedly been seen jogging around Dalkey. On March 15, he visited the Corner Note Cafe with his family.

Matt married his wife, Luciana, in a private civil ceremony in December 2005, at the Manhattan Marriage Bureau.

In 2013, the beloved couple leased a lavish hotel in Saint Lucia in celebration of the renewal of their wedding vows.
