In a recent interview with The Sun, the 32-year-old recalled what transpired when she met her father’s new fiancée for the first time following her trip to Colorado.
While Duane and Lyssa appear to be close, it wasn’t always the case as they came for each other’s throats in January.
According to Lyssa, she and her daughters - Madalynn and Abbie - made the trip to Colorado so they could spend some time with Duane and get to know Francie.
The “Dog the Bounty Hunter” star stated that she was taken aback by her father’s new healthy and happy appearance - which she credited Francie for as the 51-year-old had inspired Duane to eat better and even cut down on his smoking. Hence, she was filled with joy when she eventually met Francie, as she recalled:
“As soon as we met, it was like we've known each other for 10 years or 20 years or forever. We got along really fabulously from the get-go.”
Fans were unsurprised by Lyssa’s statement as she has been quite vocal about her support for Francie and Duane’s relationship.
Earlier in May, Us Magazine reported that the mother of two had even posted a picture of Duane’s proposal story on her Instagram Story with the caption: “Welcome to the Fam Fran!”
Although Lyssa admitted that she wasn’t initially in favor of the pair, she eventually changed her mind when she noticed how good they looked together.
During another interview with The Sun, Lyssa made it known that Duane and Francie’s relationship might give other widows and widowers the push they need to find love again.
The former bail bondswoman added that despite Duane's happiness, fans might find it hard to see the famous bounty hunter moving on after his wife, Beth, died from cancer in June 2019.
While Duane and Lyssa appear to be close, it wasn’t always the case as they came for each other’s throats in January.
According to The Sun, Lyssa accused her father of "blackmailing" her because he wanted to reveal details of her previous suicide attempts.
The mother of two also slammed Duane for allegedly being in a relationship with the woman that used to Beth’s assistant, Moon Angell.
