Us Weekly: Kelly Clarkson Leans on Blake Shelton for Support Amid Divorce News
Most Kelly Clarkson fans know by now that she’s filed for divorce from husband, Brandon Blackstock. However, according to a source, the singer has been leaning on Blake Shelton for support during this difficult time.
Clarkson, 38, filed for divorce from her husband earlier this month after returning to Los Angeles from her Montana ranch. As the process goes through the courts, the star has been leaning on Shelton, 43, for support.
A source, who spoke to “Us Weekly,” explained: “Blake has been supportive and the friend she has needed, as always.” The pair works together as judges on “The Voice.”

KELLY’S RELATIONSHIP WITH BLAKE
Blackstock, 43, also happens to be both of their managers. The insider elaborated on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” host’s relationship with Shelton saying:
“Blake and Kelly often joke they are siblings.”
The country musician is also getting support from someone close to Blackstock, his stepmother. Reba McEntire is married to Narvel Blackstock, who happens to be Brandon’s father.
REBA SUPPORTING THE COUPLE
Another source shared: “[Kelly Clarkson] broke the news to Reba.” The second insider revealed how the country music legend’s reaction stating: “Reba’s supportive of both Brandon and Kelly’s decision to split.”
They clashed on so many levels
McEntire wasn’t pleased with the decision and “She’s anguished about it, but she’s not one to judge.” Clarkson and her husband had been married for nearly seven years.
QUARANTINE WOES
The couple share a daughter and son namely: River Rose, 6, and Remington Alexander, 4. A third source shared why Clarkson and Blackstock were divorcing stating:
“They clashed on so many levels and being in quarantine together heightened their problems to the point of no return.”
A STRESSFUL TIME
In March 2020, the country singer and her family moved to their ranch to self-isolate against the novel coronavirus disease. However, the time alone for the couple was allegedly not good as "It was a stressful time,” according to a “People” magazine insider.
QUARANTINE MADE THINGS WORSE
The informant added: “[Quarantining in Montana] exacerbated any issues.” The “American Idol” winner and her manager started seeing each other in 2011.
WHEN THEY GOT MARRIED
By December 2012, the couple announced their engagement and their wedding came less than a year later. Blackstock has two other children with ex-wife Melissa Ashworth, a daughter Savannah, 18, and son Seth, 13.
SEEN WITHOUT WEDDING RING
Last week Friday, Clarkson was spotted without her wedding band while walking her dog in Los Angeles. The sighting came after news of her divorce had started spreading.
