LL Cool J's Wife Simone Celebrates 16 Years of Being Cancer Free in a Photo with Doctor & Nurse

LL Cool J's wife reflected on overcoming her health challenges as she celebrated the 16th anniversary of being cancer-free with a photo of her doctor and nurse.

Simone Smith appears to have it all, she is the wife of LL Cool J, and the couple has four beautiful. She is also a successful entrepreneur with a self-titled jewelry collection.

Her jewelry was launched in 2011 and featured trendy pieces inspired by the Hip Hop culture. She also partnered with Mary J Blige for a special collection, "Sister Love," which was created from some of the R&B legend's favorite accessories.

Over the years, Simone has been pictured mingling with other famous wives like Cookie Johnson, Vanessa Bryant, and Tina Knowles. Although her life appears to be all glitz and glamour, she has dealt with personal struggles along the way.

The rapper's wife battled cancer over a decade ago. It is reported, after Simone found what she thought was a knot in her knee, doctors diagnosed her with rare bone cancer in 2004.

It was discovered that Simone had stage 3 chondrosarcoma. Taking her diagnosis head-on, she underwent a 15-hour surgery and spent over two-years recovering as she learned to walk again.

Through it all, LL Cool J stood by her side. She told Entertainment Tonight that at one point, her husband even offered to give her his fibula bone. "He felt that his fibula bone would be bigger and stronger," she explained.

Recently, Simone reflected on her battle with cancer. She celebrated being cancer-free for 16 years. During one of her doctor's visits, she posted a photo with the medical staff who have been by her side.

In a heart-warming photo, she posed with Dr. Athanasian and a woman named nurse Ro. In her tribute to them, Simone said they were "blessing" her life and added, "GOD is a shield to everyone who seeks his protection."

One fan celebrated with her as the person shared their story and revealed, "what a blessing I'm going on 15 years Cancer free. Thank you, Lord."

Nichelle Turner commented, "such great news! Always sending you love and healing energy!" Simone's friend and rapper MC Lyte sent affirmed her faith over the situation.

According to FOX Business, Simone has turned her battle with cancer into a worthy cause after establishing a non-profit business called, "Beat Cancer Like a Boss."

The campaign receives donations from her jewelry collection as part of a partnership with Simone, LL Cool J, and the American Cancer Society.
