Gabby Sidibe looked gorgeous as she posed in front of a painted wall while dressed in a colorful dress. The actress recreated a portrait by Kehinde Wiley.
Gabby Sidibe has always been proud of her African heritage. She celebrates her culture through fashion and proudly adorns Ankara style dresses and African print headwraps.
Her father is from Senegal and the "Empire" star has even embraced many delicacies from the country. Amid quarantine, she attempted a few African recipes. She shared her success in creating some of her favorite meals and her less successful attempts.
Recently, Sidibe felt inspired by an African-American artist named Kehinde Wiley and recreated one of his paintings. He is the man behind the portrait of the former president, Barack Obama, which stands in the Smithsonian Museum.
"She wanna be a Kehinde Wiley portrait SOOO BAD," Sidibe wrote in her caption. The actress looked stunning showing off her side profile as she posed in front of a wallpaper that was embellished with birds and flowers.
One fan praised the beauty in Sidibe's recreation and commented, "she wanted to, and so she did! Superb!" Another fan gushed over her artistic approach and said, "you are poetry in motion, my lovely."
Sidibe showed off her curly hair in an off the shoulder Ankara outfit, which she accessorized with a red necklace. Many of her fans complimented her hair and probed her for details on her dress. She revealed that her outfit was actually a bathing suit.
In her post, Sidibe also shared the original image that she had recreated. Her co-star, Tasha Smith admitted that she wanted Sidibe's portrait. During a hilarious exchange in the comment section, Sidibe admitted:
"I really had a plan to steal the ones from The Lyon mansion but...COVID and her [expletive] ruined everything!"

The actress's plea to the universe was answered when she met her boyfriend, Brandon Frankel. The couple made their relationship official on Instagram in 2019.
They have been quarantined together amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Sidibe has been giving her followers regular updates and some of the precious moments they have enjoyed with her cat, Aaron.
