UPDATED: Naya Rivera's body was found in the northeast portion of Lake Piru. Prior to the tragic discovery, her "Glee" co-star Amber Riley fired back at fans who pointed out that she has been silent on social media ever since Rivera disappeared. Here is what she wants the haters to know.

"Glee" star Amber Riley is not going to let haters make her life miserable. The actress spoke out against fans who accused her of remaining silent after her co-star Naya Rivera went missing.

After Rivera could not be found following her drowning accident on July 8 in Lake Piru, the actress' fans called out her "Glee" co-stars on social media for staying mum.

In an emotional tweet, Riley clapped back at haters as she explained why it is not necessary for Rivera's co-stars to speak out about the matter on social media at the moment, writing:

"No one owes anyone online a performance of grief. This is very real and devastating. Focus on Naya and her family. Not us. We don’t matter right now."

Riley demanded that her fans show respect and also shared how all their energy was invested towards helping find Rivera and praying for her safe return.

Meanwhile, Rivera's co-star Heather Morris spoke out on social media following her disappearance. Replying to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department’s tweet about the rescue mission, Morris shared that she was trying to conduct an on-foot search and rescue mission.

Rivera's other co-star Lea Michele deactivated her Twitter account after the internet criticized her for not speaking out or posting about the actress' disappearance.

On July 9, the Ventura County Sheriff's Office shared that the search for the actress  changed from a rescue mission to a recovery effort.

The pregnant actress later posted an apology and has maintained a low profile on social media. Some of Michele's co-stars previously claimed that she was aggressive and mean on the set of the show.

All the rescue efforts to find Rivera had initially failed. The 33-year-old went missing during a boating trip with her 4-year-old son Josey at Lake Piru outside Los Angeles.

Hours later, the little one was found napping on the boat, but his mom was nowhere to be found. He told the police that he and his mom had gone swimming and she never made it back to the boat.

On July 9, the Ventura County Sheriff's Office shared that the search for the actress changed from a rescue mission to a recovery effort. Her body was found in the northeast portion of the lake. According to Sheriff Bill Ayub, it was a tragic case of accidental drowning.
