While speaking to Us Weekly, a source revealed that Laich and Hough were anxious about the state of their relationship, but Hough is ready to accept him back fully.
It also appears that Laich is open to the idea of getting back with his estranged wife if the opportunity comes.
A source revealed to People that Laich is still loved by Hough's family and friends, and everyone was rooting for them to settle things. The source added:
"He's a great guy, and they would love to see Julianne give things another chance."
Hough, 32, and Laich, 37, separated in May after three years of marriage, and while announcing their split, the couple released an exclusive joint statement to People.
In the statement, the duo stated that they had carefully and lovingly taken time to make the decision and would always share love and respect for each other.
Last month, Laich celebrated his 37th birthday with Hough's brother, Derek.
At the time, a source revealed that Hough was a different person than she was when the couple got married, and she had learned to embrace herself over the years.
The news of an imminent reconciliation comes only days after an insider told E! News! that the couple had not gotten a divorce because they were taking their time.
The source also added that although Hough was still having a hard time processing the split, Laich was ready to get divorced.
Earlier in July, Hough made headlines after she shared a series of cryptic quotes about feeling depressed and accepting changes.
In the messages, Hough hinted at the range of emotions she was experiencing while also sharing a text that talked about being gentle with oneself.
Although it remains uncertain where their relationship stands, Hough and Laich appear determined to keep being close friends, following their separation.
Last month, Laich celebrated his 37th birthday with Hough's brother, Derek, and the two were spotted working out together.
With their undeniable love and respect for each other, there is no doubt that Laich and Hough will make the best decision for themselves — both as individuals and as a couple.
