Simone Biles is celebrating her friend's 25th birthday and shared a sweet photo of herself with him onto her social media.

Simone Biles is celebrating her friend's 25th birthday and is marking the occasion by sharing a sweet photo of herself with him onto her Instagram story.

The photo shows the Olympic athlete piggybacking on her friend, with her writing a touching message that she hoped this year would bring him everything he wants.

Earlier this month, Biles revealed that she had broken up with her boyfriend Stacey Ervin Jr. after three years of dating.

The star opened up about the split during an interview, after fans noticed he had not wished Biles a happy birthday in March. She said:

"It's hard being young and having that long of a relationship and then ending it. But it was for the best."

The former couple had been visibly present on each other's social media, even spending Thanksgiving together in Belize as well as New Year's Eve.

Before the breakup, Biles had been preparing for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics which were rescheduled to next year in July, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Ervin had shared a post to his Instagram praising his girlfriend's achievements.

In 2017, Biles revealed they were dating after she shared an Instagram post gushing over Ervin, a fellow gymnast who she met while training at the World Championship Center in Texas.

The day before, Ervin had shared a post to his Instagram praising his girlfriend's achievements, after she was inducted into the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame. During an interview, the Olympic athlete gushed over her boyfriend's enthusiasm saying:

"Every time it's different, he basically just screams into the phone and tells me how proud he is of me. He's an awesome times two."

He added that Biles had made him feel like "the luckiest man alive," and going public, the couple regularly made appearances on each other's Instagram pages.

However, after their split, both Ervin and Biles removed any posts that featured their ex, with it culminating in fans noticing when he did not wish her a happy birthday.

Biles is a five-time Olympic world champion, and in February shared a video of herself perming the Yurchenko double pike, a move that had never been performed by a female gymnast during a competition.

Afterward, she said that she had performed the risky move, as in gymnastics, she needed had great coaches who helped guide her into pushing more boundaries.
