DA BRAT HAS NOT AGED A DAY!

Da Brat sent birthday shutouts to her mom while adding well-wishes and professing her love. In one of the snapshots, the duo were absolute twinnies as they rocked matching shades.

Anyone viewing would hardly be able to tell them apart as they both looked evergreen. Another of her post was a heartwarming mother-daughter moment where Da Brat rested her head on her mom's shoulder while the matriarch rocked a bleached blonde hairstyle and a Calvin Klein woolly coat.

It is noteworthy that Da Brat, whose real name is Shawntae Harris, is the younger half-sister of star actress LisaRaye McCoy. Although both are stars in their own rights, McCoy played a vital role in Da Brat's love life.

Presently, Da Brat is in a relationship with Jessica Dupart and their paths crossed because her older sister, LisaRaye, had a project with Dupart. In an interview with MadameNoire, McCoy shared:

"...She [Jessica Dupart] reached out to have my sister try her drops, then they actually made a rapport with each other and built a friendship."

DA BRAT'S JOURNEY TO ACCEPTANCE

It took Da Brat, an award-winning rapper, 25 years to come to terms with her sexuality. She shared that although she had the support of many people, it was her sole decision to remain "in the closet."

She mentioned that coming out in the nineties would have been the end of her musical career. However, she went public after her fiance and Kaleidoscope Hairline mogul, Dupart, presented her with a Bentley. Da Brat decided she was ready to let the world know she met her heart's match.

HER MOM'S OPINION

Once in an interview, Da Brat mentioned that her mom was still struggling with the reality of her sexual preference. She shared that although her mom was not satisfied with the news, there is no rift between them and no member of her family showed disapproval.

The 90s rapper mentioned that when she was in high school, she was bisexual, and being a private person, the knowledge of her sexuality was not public.

Now that she is with Dupart, a social media personality, much of Da Brat's love life is beginning to get out but she doesn't mind!
