Smith posted a photo of herself showing off her beautiful brown braids while looking gorgeous in a sporty green jacket, white top, and a pair of blue jeans.
She also displayed her colorful fingernails and showcased a lovely diamond ring. However, one feature of Simone's outfit stood out among the rest — her earrings.
Simone Smith couldn't walk for over two years after bone cancer surgery.
She donned an exquisite pair of oversized gold earrings, the kind which was popular when the 34-year-old was in her teen years. She then added a shot of the ornaments and captioned the post: “What’s old is new again.”
Simone revealed that she and Mary J had "dug deep into their jewelry boxes" from when they were much younger and found the gorgeous set of hoops. She announced that the piece and many more were available at her and Blige's fashion brand, Sister Love.
Many of Simone's Instagram followers seemed just as nostalgic as the New York native. Fans expressed that the earrings looked fabulous, with some proceeding to inquire about her brand's other products.
Simone is the wife of hip-hop star LL Cool J, whom she married in 1995 after eight years of dating. The couple has four children: son Najee and their three daughters Italia, Samaria, and Nina.
LL and Simone have been through their share of highs and lows in their 25-year-marriage. In 2004, Simone was diagnosed with Stage III bone cancer.
This began a trying period for the entrepreneur as she later admitted to crying for much of the following two weeks after receiving her diagnosis.
Nonetheless, Simone had her husband and the rest of her family readily by her side. She eventually underwent an invasive 15-hour reconstructive surgery and had to learn to walk again for another two and a half years.
After Simone beat cancer, she and her husband launched the "Beat Cancer Like A Boss" campaign with the American Cancer Society which empowers women to lean onto their support system in their struggles with the condition.
Simone and LL Cool J continue to go from strength to strength in their careers and marriage although the duo admits to some early struggles due to the rapper's status as a "sex symbol" in the nineties.
