Rapper and music producer LL Cool J has been a married man for 25 years now. He and his wife have a relationship like no other and they are still going strong.

LL and Smith walked down the aisle on August 7, 1995, but they still love each other like a newlywed couple. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the couple could not celebrate their anniversary in a grand way as they would like to.

THE ROMANTIC DATE

But that could not stop them from owning their special day. In fact, the celebrations could not have been any perfect and it seems like they had a great time.

With the help of some "special people," LL and Smith celebrated their day with a romantic at-home dinner for two amid a dreamy setup.

The lovebirds met by chance when they were just a bunch of teenagers in 1987.

In an Instagram post, Smith gave her fans a look into the romantic celebration. A video showed a silver-themed dinner table set up for the couple, complete with beautiful flowers and candlelight.

The snapshots that followed featured servings of mouth-watering dishes along with what seemed like a pie. "25 years blessed," the sparkly topper read.

Another picture featured three little cupcakes with photos of LL and Smith's younger days imprinted on them. Smith also shared a rare photo of herself and LL from when they were pretty young.

HOW LL AND SIMONE MET

The lovebirds met by chance when they were just a bunch of teenagers in 1987. Smith was the cousin of LL's friend who introduced them to each other when he came over to meet him.

After 8 years of dating, the couple finally tied the knot in 1995. LL proposed to his lady love in a rather unusual way. According to him, he just sped his Porsche until Smith said yes.

THROUGH THICK AND THIN

The couple has been through some tough times together. When Smith was diagnosed with a rare kind of bone cancer in 2004, LL stuck by her side and helped her heal and even offered his own fibula.

LL and Smith share four children - Najee, Italia, Samaria, and Nina. They are close to all of their children and spend time with them whenever they can.
