LL Cool J's wife shared one of her favorite couples throwback photos as she posted an early birthday tribute her friend and basketball legend, Magic Johnson.

LL Cool J and his wife Simone Smith are a pair that sometimes enjoys mixing with other famous couples in Hollywood.

A year ago, they boarded a luxury boat and sailed across the Mediterranean with couples that included Magic Johnson, Cookie Johnson, Holly Robinson Peete, and her husband, among others.

A month after the trip which Simone dubbed the "grown folk vacay," she posted more photos. She admitted that it was one of the most "unforgettable" experiences of her life.

Recently, Simone shared another memorable experience with the Johnsons. The rapper's wife posted an early birthday tribute to Magic. She posted a throwback photo of them dressed in clothes from the 1990s.

The photo was taken in April 2013 when LL Cool J hosted a 1990s hip hop themed birthday party for Simone. As she reflected on the moment in her tribute to Magic, she wrote:

"Even though your bday is tomorrow 8/14 Thursday's are good for a good throwback! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIG BRO!"

Simone also included a heartfelt message for Magic on his special day. She added, "May you enjoy this day that the good Lord made. Rejoice and be glad!"

Over five thousand fans, including LL Cool J liked the photo and joined Simone in wishing Magic a happy birthday. One person gushed over their costumes.

Days earlier, Simone and LL Cool J celebrated their daughter Nina's 20th birthday. She posted a photo montage which included throwback photos from Nina's childhood.

In Simone's touching birthday message to her daughter, she admitted that she couldn't believe that Nina was already 20. The proud mom also praised the aspiring singer for her talent and called her a "superstar."

Adding to an already celebratory week, Simone and LL Cool J also marked their 25th anniversary. The couple enjoyed a candlelit meal complete with silver decor.

They honored their anniversary by commissioning a portrait from Senegalese artist Bou Bou. LL Cool J shared a video of the artist painting the piece using only a microphone.
