Rosie O'Donnell Sends Birthday Love to Her Daughter Chelsea Two Years after They Reconnected

Rosie O'Donnell's eldest daughter Chelsea turned 23, and the actress/comedian commemorated the day with a sweet snap and a heartwarming message on her birthday.

Earlier this week Rosie O'Donnell's second of five children, Chelsea celebrated her 23rd birthday, and the 58-year-old took to social media to pay tribute to her daughter.

Even though Chelsea and Rosie notoriously ended up estranged years ago, they reconnected in 2018, and their bond continues to strengthen.

THE SWEET MESSAGE

With a beautiful picture of Chelsea holding her daughter Skylar, who was still a tiny baby at the time, to her chest, the actress/comedian kept the caption short and sweet as she wrote:

"Happy 23rd birthday Chelsea - I love u ♥️."

BLENDED FAMILY

Chelsea gave birth to Skylar in December 2018, and the little cutey became Rosie's first grandchild. The ups and down Rosie experienced with Chelsea was just a part of her experience raising a blended family amid a busy and successful career.

While in a relationship with Kelli Carpenter back in the 90s, O'Donnell adopted three children. Parker in 1995, Chelsea in 1997, and then Blake two years later. In 2002, Kelli and O'Donnell's daughter Vivienne was born via artificial insemination.

THEY RECONCILED BEFORE SKYLAR'S BIRTH

After marrying Michelle Rounds in June 2013, Rosie became a mom for the fifth time when they adopted Dakota shortly after.

However, she is now enjoying being grandma, and she confirmed after news first broke of Chelsea's pregnancy in 2018, that they had already reconciled.

A TROUBLED AND PUBLIC RELATIONSHIP

Chelsea confirmed that she was pregnant with her boyfriend, Jacob Bourassa's baby in June 2018, and O'Donnell later elaborated on the reason why she and Chelsea stayed estranged for years. While chatting to PEOPLE, the actress said:

"We went through some really public troubled times. She’s doing better now and we’re both communicating with each other.”

The actress also recently spent additional quality time with her children as they quarantined together amid the novel coronavirus pandemic, and Rosie O'Donnell made sure to update her fans with the fun they had.

In one of the updates, the mom of five posted a hilarious TikTok video her daughter Vivienne convinced her to partake in, and they sure had a lot of fun.
