Idris Elba Speaks Out against Rumors That He Secretly Welcomed a Baby with Wife Sabrina Dhowre

"Luther" star Idris Elba has shut down the baby rumors once and for all. The actor took to Twitter to settle that the news about him welcoming a baby with his wife Sabrina is untrue.

Idris Elba's fans can finally stop wondering whether the actor is toting around a baby with his wife, Sabrina Dhowre. The "The Office" star revealed on September 14 that he and his wife have not welcomed a baby.

Elba and his wife were being bombarded with congratulatory messages after rumors about him having a new baby started to circulate around the internet. While the father-of-two was grateful for the good wishes, he needed to set the record straight.

THE RUMORS ARE FALSE

In a tweet, Elba thanked his fans on his and Sabrina's behalf for their love and shut down the baby rumors. He also requested the netizens to not believe everything they read.

The actor left his fans scratching their heads after he was quoted saying that he is the father of two boys in a recent interview that led them to believe that he had welcomed a new bundle of joy.

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight Canada, he was discussing his new movie "Concrete Cowboy" at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 10 when he misspoke.

Elba and his wife sparked concerns back in April after they were diagnosed with COVID-19.

ELBA'S BROOD

Elba might not have had a new baby with his third wife yet, but he is a doting father to his two children, Isan and Winston. He welcomed his son Winston with his ex-girlfriend, Naiyana Garth.

As for Isan, she was born out of Elba's marriage to makeup artist Hanne "Kim" Norgaard. They tied the knot in 1999 but ended up parting ways in 2003. Although they never really revealed why they could not make their marriage work, they are still on good terms.

After his divorce, Elba was briefly married to Sonya Nicole Hamlin in 2006. He and his current wife tied the knot a year after announcing their engagement in February 2018.

Elba and his wife sparked concerns back in April after they were diagnosed with COVID-19. Although their symptoms were mild, they were scared and felt unsettled because nothing was certain.

THEIR COVID-19 DIAGNOSIS CHANGED THEM

Dhowre Elba shared that the diagnosis left them terrified. In fact, they were so paranoid that Elba even thought that could be the end for him because he has asthma and he is older.

Luckily, the couple recovered from the novel virus but the terrifying experience changed their perspective on life. They became more appreciative of life and do not take it for granted.
