Award-winning singer Adele recently proved to fans that she could be as silly as she is serious in a recent Instagram post. Paying tribute to her best friend Nicole Richie, the British star shared a series of photos alongside a video that showed the playful side of both stars.

The first slide was a hilarious video of a scare prank that showed Riche crouching on the kitchen floor, waiting for Adele to arrive before leaping to startle her.

The "Hello" crooner fell for the prank and screamed, causing everyone in the room to laugh and Richie to roll on the ground in the joy. Adele then muttered some swear words before walking off.

Adele's birthday tribute comes a month after she was called out for cultural appropriation after wearing Bantu knots and a Jamaican flag bikini.

The hilarious clip was followed by a silly photo of Adele and the celebrant alongside a funny image of the scared singer snuggling up to her pal as they posed under a giraffe's head.

The last two snapshots weren't playful but instead flaunted the singer's impressive weight loss as she posed with the fashion designer at red carpet events. The sweet post was captioned:

"Happy belated birthday to my daily dose of grace @nicolerichie. I admire you and love you so much. You are the epitome of self-preservation, self-love, and absolute savagery!"

Adele concluded the post urging Richie to keep making their crew laugh before ending with a heart emoji. Despite keeping a low profile over the years, the 15-time Grammy winner has a host of celebrities in her inner circle.

Actress Lauren Parsekian Paul, who is married to "Breaking Bad" star Aaron Paul, is a singer's tight pal. There is also Ayda Field, the wife of singer Robbie Williams.

According to reports, the duo has been friends from way back, and they bonded over motherhood. It is also believed that Field's trainer is responsible for the singer's dramatic weight loss.

The mother-of-one is also pals with James Corden, Harry Styles, Jedidiah Jenkins, Alan Carr, and actress Jennifer Lawrence. Adele's birthday tribute comes a month after she was called out for cultural appropriation after wearing Bantu knots and a Jamaican flag bikini in honor of Notting Hill Carnival.

Celebrating the annual carnival, which had to be marked virtually because of the pandemic, the pop singer rocked the traditional African hairdo and the bikini top with some feathers, as seen in an Instagram post.

Unfortunately, her enthusiasm was met with a lot of backlash from fans shamed her for stealing the black culture. Other fans, however, came to her defense, saying she was only bringing the spotlight to the culture.
