Simone Smith, the wife of rapper and actor LL Cool J, recently celebrated her birthday with some of her friends. Her clothes, including her ripped jeans, attracted a lot of attention.
On October 17, Simone Smith took to Instagram to share plenty of photos of the surprise birthday party that her “sisters” arranged for her in a New York restaurant.
In the caption of one of her posts, LL Cool J’s wife explained that her actual birthday party was supposed to take place in March. However, due to the pandemic situation, it was canceled.
SIMONE SMITH’S SURPRISE PARTY
She revealed that her friend, fashion consultant Debra Robinson invited her to go to 388 Italian Restaurant & Catering for “dinner Friday.” Initially, Simone didn’t want to go, but Debra, fortunately, convinced her. Simone wrote:
“I [love] these Chicas so much!! When y’all yelled surprise I was like surprise for what?? The love and laughter last night was on a thousand” [sic].
Although Simone didn’t know it was a surprise birthday party, she dressed up for the occasion! LL Cool J’s wife opted for a black leather jacket under a denim vest, ripped blue jeans, and black high boots.
Apart from that, Simone put on a black hat and since she was the birthday girl and the center of attention, she rocked a shiny red and white tiara.
[LL Cool J and Simone] have gone through plenty of difficulties, including her cancer journey.
SIMONE SMITH AND LL COOL J’S RELATIONSHIP
Simone and LL Cool J’s love story is one of a kind. The couple met each other thanks to Simone’s cousin who happened to be the rapper’s friend, back in 1987. At the time, she was a teenager.
When LL Cool J was 19 years old, they welcomed their first child. However, he was afraid of parenthood so he left Simone. He eventually returned, got her pregnant again, and left for the second time.
In 1995, after dating on-again, off-again for eight years, they tied the knot and LL Cool J has stayed by her side for good, even changing some of his most problematic traits.
Nowadays, they share four children and have gone through plenty of difficulties, including her cancer journey. Simone was diagnosed with a rare type of bone cancer called chondrosarcoma in 2004. She underwent a 15-hour surgery to replace her right tibia with her left fibula and a still rod.
Nowadays, and after a two-and-a-half-year recovery when she had to learn how to walk again, Simone is in remission. Way to go, Queen.
