Celine accompanied the images with a touching birthday note written in French and translated into English. In the caption, Celine wrote that Nelson and Eddy had brought love, joy, and laughter into her life every day since they were born. The proud mom then noted that she and her late husband, Rene, are proud of the twins. She wrote:
“ You make me, your big brother and your Dad, who is for sure watching over you, so very proud.”
She concluded by expressing love for Nelson and Eddy while wishing them a happy birthday. The sweet post garnered several attention from fans and followers who quickly took to the comments section to leave their best wishes.
Dion’s heartfelt post comes only a few days after she shared a rare photo of herself with the boy in honor of Spirit Day, a campaign that started in 2010 to take a stand against LGBTQ bullying.
Dion shares Nelson and Eddy with her late husband, Rene Angelil, who passed away from cancer in January 2016.
The image featured Dion sitting, flanked by each boy while they leaned towards her. One of the boys wore a hat that read “Spirit,” while the other donned a hat that read “Day.” She followed up the picture with a caption where she urged fans to join them in taking a stand against LGBTQ bullying. She wrote:
“I encourage all of you to join us and take a stand against anti-LGBTQ bullying.”
Dion’s recent birthday post is not the first time she is publicly serenading the boys with sweet words on their birthday. On their ninth birthday, the singer took to Instagram to share photos of the boys.
As usual, she accompanied the images with a loving tribute, where she explained that Nelson and Eddy bring double laughter and love into her life.
