THE QUEEN OF GLAM
The asymmetrical dress that Ross posted online was a stylish piece she wore when she accepted her Fashion Icon Award at the 2020 People’s Choice Awards.
She paired her stunning white dress with a black belt to highlight her thin waist and completed it with a pair of black thigh-high boots and silver pieces of accessories. She wrote:
"MCQUEEN."
The actress’s stunning picture fetched many comments online. All of Ross’s Instagram followers agreed that she looked glamorous and gorgeous in her Alexander McQueen harness dress.
One fan noted that Ross’s outfit was the right dress for her award, while another one commented that she has the best style and best smile in the picture.
Ross earlier shared online about how her mother became an instrument to her desires to become a model.
HER GREAT FASHION INFLUENCE
Following her win, Ross, who donned her long signature braids along with her white dress, shared in her speech that she credits her mother, legendary singer Diana Ross for being her great fashion influence.
She said her mother’s sense of style and her “epic closet” introduced her to the fashion world. She also thanked her other fashion influencers, which includes designers Thierry Mugler and Azzedine Alaïa.
Ross reminded the viewers and her fans that fashion has the power to influence other people. They should let their clothes be their "superhero cape" in making a statement about what they believe in.
CATWALK-ING WITH DIANA
Ross earlier shared online about how her mother became an instrument to her desires to become a model. She walked her first runway show with the iconic singer during Mugler’s “Butterfly Show” 30 years ago.
Held in Paris, Ross was happy that she got to walk hand-in-hand with her mother. Along with the mother-daughter catwalk, Ross was overjoyed to see famous supermodels sharing a runway with her.
She hit the runway with Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, and Christy Turlington. For Ross, it was her best birthday gift at 18.
Few days after she was honored as this year’s Fashion Icon Award winner, Ross was thankful for the recognition. She took to Instagram Story to share several snaps of herself in beautiful dresses over the years.
In one of her favorite looks, she included a photo of herself when she was a teenager dressed in a royal blue ensemble with a big ribbon in front.
