Glimpse at Dwyane Wade's Son Zaire's Strong Bond with Transgender Sister Zaya in Sweet Snaps
Dwyane Wade's children, Zaire and Zaya, have a great relationship and support each other through triumphs and hardships.
When Dwyane Wade's eldest child Zaire was young, he wished for a younger brother who would be his best friend and companion throughout life. The NBA star had another baby shortly after named Zaya.
Zaya, whose real name is Zion, was born a boy but later came out as transgender. Fortunately, Zaya's family embraced her identity with open arms and supported her all the way, including the teen's older brother Zaire.
Recently, the siblings appeared in the 18-year-old's Instagram story in what seemed to be an underground parking area. "Missed gang," Zaine captioned the post alongside a black heart emoji.
Wade's eldest child held the phone in the snap and dressed in a gray hoodie while his sister looked laid back in a tie-dye sweater. Both siblings had their hair dyed, with Zaire sporting blonde streaks and Zaya with all pink hair.

Zaya first came out to her parents before the age of 13 and asked them to refer to her as a she and replace the name Zion with Zaya. With no bitter words, she was immediately accepted and made to feel loved.
Her father shared a series of photos with his daughter alongside a sweet caption that praised Zaya for being a source of joy.

Zaire also made sure Zaya knew their relationship would never change through an Instagram tribute. In his since-deleted post, Zaire wrote:
"I don't care what they think Z, you are my best friend and I love you, kid, and if it means anything, just know there's no love lost on this side."
Wade and his wife, Gabrielle Union, have set examples to parents who have children in the LGBTQ+ community through their vocal support. The celebrity couple later made it to Time's 100 Most Influential People of 2020 list.
In an interview, Union revealed that Zaya is a source of inspiration, not only for her but for many people to be their authentic selves, regardless of what society may think.

Last June, Zaya celebrated her 13th birthday and had special tributes from his parents posted on social media. Her father shared a series of photos with his daughter alongside a sweet caption that praised Zaya for being a source of joy.
The Miami Heat player ended his post by professing his unconditional love and vowing to be by his daughter's side, through thick and thin, until all else is gone in the world.
