For some adults cutting off their long hair is a terrifying idea, but that wasn’t the case for Alicia Silverstone’s young son. The actress shared a social media post of the moment when the little boy let go of his long locks.

Over the weekend, actress Alicia Silverstone’s son, Bear Blu Jarecki, 9, made the decision to cut off his long hair. The star took to Instagram to share the moment the young boy got the haircut.

In the caption of the post, the “Clueless” actress noted how grown up her son had become. Silverstone, 44, lamented about missing the little boy’s hair and answered yes to the question of whether it was his own decision to get the haircut.

The star confessed that she might have cried inside as she watched him get his hair cut short. She also revealed that she didn’t try to stop him and that he’d kept it long all along because he’d loved it, adding:

“He just wanted to try something new.”

Using her motherly instinct, the actress shared that she had a feeling he would go back to the long hair in the future. However, showing how much she supported him, she confessed:

“I will always support my sweet, caring, and precious little boy in every decision he makes.”

In the clip, Jarecki sat in a barber chair and had his long hair tied in two pigtails. He initially admitted to his mother that he was quite nervous about finally cutting his long hair that reached down past his chest.

However, as he sat on the chair he shared with Silverstone that he was quite excited. After the first pigtail went off, he handled it in awe but seemed pretty okay with his decision.

Ultimately, the son of “The Baby-Sitters Club” actress appeared to like his new hairstyle. He was seen brushing it back and admiring what he looked like with shorter hair in a mirror.
