'The Princess Diaries' Star Erik Von Detten and His Wife Angela Are Expecting Baby No 2

Erik Von Detten, of "The Princess Diaries" fame, and his wife, Angela Von Detten are expecting baby 2. Over the past decade, Erik has enjoyed a quieter life with his wife and daughter away from the acting scene.

Realtor, Angela Von Detten, who is the wife of the former actor, Erik Von Detten, shared news of her second pregnancy on her Instagram on Friday, December 11. With Erik's Instagram account being private, no comment yet from him has been noted.

Angela simply posted a picture of her sonogram scan, positioned on top of a red Christmas hat with the caption: "Santa baby." She did not share whether they're having a boy or a girl, announcing that their "surprise" was due in March 2021.

Unlike her more private husband, Angela doesn't shy away from sharing family moments on social media. This past Halloween, she indulged followers with a snap of the three of them dressed as characters from the movies, "Moana" and "Monsters Inc."

On Thanksgiving, she shared another family moment with her, Derek, and their daughter, Claire Elizabeth in a pumpkin patch. She captioned a heartfelt message expressing what she was thankful for:

"On this day and every day I’m so grateful for my family. Nothing else matters as long as I’ve got you guys!"

38-year-old Erik has not made any appearances in movies or TV shows of late, though he admitted to still having the acting bug and partaking in performances purely for fun these days.

His last notable performance was 10 years ago, having played the character of Sid in the animated movie, Toy Story 3. He had previously lent his voice to the first two installments of the hit movie.

Since stepping out of the limelight, Erik went into sales, where he worked as a sales manager at a commodities brokerage firm.

The couple met through mutual friends years ago and had exchanged vows in Catalina Island by 2018. They did not waste any time planning their family, as Angela announced she was expecting Claire a mere 3 months after saying 'I do.'

Claire was born on May 17, 2019, and Angela was enamored with her new bundle of joy, stating she hadn't imagined a love so deep as possible. In her caption, she described Claire as "their sweetest treasure" adding:

"Giving birth was the most magical experience of my life so far."

Erik's acting debut occurred in 1995 as a child star on "Days of our Lives." He also had appearances on "7th Heaven", "ER", and "Odd Man Out, " throughout the '90s.

By 2001, he was cast opposite Anne Hathaway in Disney's "The Princess Diaries", playing Hathaway's crush, Josh Bryant. Following that, Erik also appeared on the Disney Channel series, "So Weird."

Since stepping out of the limelight a decade ago, Erik went into sales, where he worked as a sales manager at a commodities brokerage firm.

Although he enjoyed a fairly understated stint in the world acting, it would seem there are no regrets on his part, with the former acting enjoying flying under the radar and focusing on his family.
