Comedian Sinbad's Kids Give Health Update on Their Dad Amid His Recovery from a Stroke (Video)

Popular stand-up comedian Sinbad continues to recover from the stroke he suffered recently. His children, Royce and Paige, have provided an update on his recovery.

Stand-up comedian Sinbad's children, son Royce Beckly Adkins and daughter, Paige Adkins, teamed up to provide fans with an update on their father's health to his fans.

In a video shared on the comedian's Instagram page, Royce and Paige said they were taking a moment to give everyone an update on behalf of their father, mother Meredith, sister Gem, and the entire Adkins family.

They expressed delight that their father continues to recover and revealed he is getting better every passing day. They thanked everyone for their good wishes, calls, texts, flowers, cards, and especially their prayers.

Paige and Royce urged fans to continue to pray for their father so that he can heal completely. They also expressed their deepest gratitude to the medical personnel who have been taking care of their father daily.

They said the important work the medical workers do for Sinbad every day, even amid the pandemic, could not be talked about enough. To end their video, Paige and Royce quoted words from their father.

In his words, Sinbad said he had seen first hand how America's medical workers have continued to work amid the pandemic, for which everyone must appreciate them.

Last month, Sinbad's family revealed he was beginning his road to recovery after he suffered a stroke.

He said people could show their appreciation to the medical workers by wearing facemasks. Sinbad urged people to thank God for everything he has given them, even if it is not all they asked for.

The comedian also said people should appreciate God for their families and hug the ones they love while they are still with them. He ended by saying:

"We need each other to get through this journey. I can't wait to see you all again soon. As always, stay funky, stay prayed up!"

Last month, Sinbad's family revealed he was beginning his road to recovery after he suffered a stroke. In a statement to Variety, his family described him as a source of love and joy for many generations.

The Adkins family further thanked everyone in advance for their love and support, urging them to continue to pray for the comedian. The family also asked for privacy during the period.

Sinbad, 64, rose to fame in the early 1990s when he appeared in many HBO comedy specials. He also starred in Fox's "The Sinbad Show," which aired from 1993 to 1994, and portrayed the character, Walter Oakes, on "A Different World."

Sinbad married his wife, Meredith Fuller, in 1985. They divorced in 1992 before remarrying in 2002. The couple shares two children: Royce and his sister, Paige.
