Russell Brand is married to fashion designer Laura Gallacher whom he met long before he married pop icon Katy Perry.

Russell Brand and his wife Laura Gallacher have now been married for 3 years and share two daughters. The two first met and started dating when Laura was 19, but the romance fizzled out, and they parted amicably.

It would be eight years before Russell and Laura ran into each other again, but from then on, it was a whirlwind courtship between the Scottish blogger and designer and the British comedian.

Laura and Russell have been together since 2005, but the designer has kept herself out of the limelight. Nevertheless, the 33-year-old has a successful fashion and lifestyle blog and is a published author.

Laura's book "The Joy Journal: Easy Activities & Creative Craft for Magical Everyday Play" was published in early 2020 and proposes dozens of mindful and creative ways to encourage children to interact with their environment.

Laura had the idea for the company while she was battling morning sickness during her first pregnancy. Laura suffers from hyperemesis gravidarum, a form of severe and sometimes incapacitating morning sickness.

RECONNECTING

Laura revealed that when she and Russell ran into each other again after so many years, they had both immediately sensed that their connection was serious but took their time to "do it right." She said:

"It was very slow, it was getting to know each other and going out on day trips together."

WHIRLWIND

But the slow, steady courtship accelerated, and within six months, Laura and Russell were talking about living together and taking the big step of getting themselves a puppy.

In early 2016, Laura and Russell discovered that they were expecting a baby, and that was when the comedian got down on one knee and proposed. The couple kept their engagement quiet and shared the news only with their close friends and family.

WEDDING

The wedding took place in 2017 after the couple welcomed their first daughter, Mabel, now 4. Unlike his previous marriage to pop star Katy Perry, Russell wanted to keep things lowkey and intimate.

The couple married at the Remenham Church in Henley-on-Thames and celebrated with an Indian-themed reception attended by their closest friends and family, and of course, their daughter.

Laura and Russell welcomed their second child, another baby girl named Peggy, in July 2018, and the couple has confessed they would like to have more children.

Laura has revealed that because of her severe morning sickness, she is waiting until the girls are a little older before embarking on another pregnancy. As for Russell, the once wild man of comedy is now a doting and devoted dad.
