NBA star Magic Johnson and his wife, Cookie couldn’t help but express pride over their daughter, Elisa’s latest achievement. The 25-year-old was featured in Cosmopolitan Magazine.
Though she is the daughter of basketball superstar Magic Johnson, Elisa Johnson is making a name of herself in the fashion world. Magic and his wife, Cookie are proud of her creative pursuits.
The legendary basketball player and his longtime wife, Cookie, took to Instagram to share one of Elisa’s recent accomplishments which involves the 25-year-old’s hair care journey.

ELISA'S PROUD PARENTS
The 61-year-old doting mother shared Elisa’s Instagram post where the latter debuted her pixie hairstyle for Cosmopolitan magazine. Cookie captioned her post with "#ProudMom" accompanied with a heart, crown, and clapping hands emoji.
In a separate post, Magic also shared his daughter’s newest magazine feature and felt proud that she shared about her transition to natural locks via the publication. The NBA icon wrote:
"Soooooooo proud of my daughter Elisa being featured in Cosmopolitan talking about her natural hair!!?."
A LIBERATING EXPERIENCE
In an excerpt from the magazine's feature posted by Elisa's parents, the fashion designer described her past hair changes as a "phase" and that she was consistent in putting on long hair extensions. Having long hair was a glorifying trend in society.
Her thoughts about having long hair changed when she cut off her beautiful locks and sported the shortest hair length. The big chop led her to love herself even more. She added:
"I liked the shape of my neck, I liked that you could see my face, and I felt a sense of freedom."
HER CHANGED PERSPECITVE
Elisa also revealed that before she cut all her hair off, she felt anxious about the thought that men might not find her haircut attractive. The male perspective "scared" her.
However, that idea vanished when she encountered guys complimenting her unique cut. She also developed a stronger mindset that if someone questioned her hair choice, they would be blocked out.
Before entering the fashion world, Elisa fancied herself to be part of the Women's National Basketball Association or WNBA, a female counterpart of the NBA.
SETTING ASIDE WNBA DREAMS
Elisa’s WNBA aspirations vanished when she delved into the fashion world and enjoyed every bit of it, together with her fashionable brother, EJ. She is the latest model signed under Wilhelmina Modeling Agency.
She walked her first runway show as a Wilhelmina model in New York Fashion Week for Tom Ford in 2017. Early this year, she modeled for reality star Kim Kardashian’s popular brand SKIMS.
Besides Elisa, another popular celebrity debuted her new haircut on social media. "Sister, Sister" star Tia Mowry delighted her fans with a look far from her usual hairstyles.
Even though she is proud of her natural hair, Mowry is not afraid to experiment with various hairstyles. She recently had a short haircut and bangs which she shared on her Instagram Story.
