Jamie Lee Curtis, one of the most famous faces in Hollywood, has recently celebrated 36 years of marriage with screenwriter and director Christopher Guest.
To mark the special occasion, the 62-year-old actress took to her official Instagram page to pay a very sweet and romantic tribute to the man who stole her heart so many years ago.
In the post, which gathered over 90,000 likes, fans were treated to a black-and-white photo of Curtis and Guest holding hands, along with a message praising the connection they share.
THE LOVE OF HER LIFE
As revealed by Curtis, this has been one of her longest relationships when it comes to seeking comfort, contact and a connection, all of which she found in Guest. She also explained how much the action means to her:
"My hand in his. Then and now. Connected through our children and family and friends it became the links in our human emotional chain that have seen each of us through triumph and tragedy."
The act of holding hands with a loved one is so meaningful to the experienced actress that she even has a website called "My Hand in Yours," which benefits Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
According to the website, Children's Hospital Los Angeles is a non-profit institution that provides healthcare and helps patients "more than half a million times each year in a setting designed just for their needs."
HOW THEY MET
It was the beginning of their love story.
In an essay for Oprah's O Magazine, the star said that she first saw Guest in a 1984 issue of Rolling Stone and that she told one of her friends she was going to marry him. She added:
"The next day I called [his] agent, gave him my number, and told him to have Chris call me if he was interested. I waited. Chris never called. I went on with my life."
However, the two eventually met at a restaurant later on, while Curtis was having dinner with friends, and the very next day she received a call from the man of her dreams. It was the beginning of their love story.
