Blake Shelton's Relationship with Gwen Stefani's Three Sons Kingston, Zuma & Apollo

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are excited about their upcoming nuptials, but the union is bigger than them as it includes Stefani's three sons, whom Shelton has grown close to over the last five years.

As Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton's wedding plans come together, the couple is as excited as Stefani's three sons, Apollo, 6, Zuma 12, and Kingston, 14, for the union to become official.

The "No Doubt" singer's children will also play a role in their mom's marriage to the country crooner, who started bonding with them soon after the couple went public with their relationship in January 2016.

EVERYONE'S EXCITED

During an exclusive with PEOPLE late in December 2020, a source confirmed that the boys will have a "large part" to play in the wedding and added:

"Gwen's sons are just really solid, sweet kids, and they're so excited for Blake and Gwen to get married. They can't wait to stand by their sides."

FROM THE START

Shelton started bonding with the boys months after he and Stefani debuted as a couple. With his playful nature, the country singer is like a big kid around the boys who often indulge in fun activities with them.

One of the couple's first outings with the boys had them stop by the ArchLight theater to watch "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," followed by a stop at the Cheesecake Factory.

Having already asked Stefani's dad for her hand in marriage, he had a sweet proposal planned out.

SHARED PRIORITIES

From running around on his Tishomingo, Oklahoma, ranch with the boys to boating or playing basketball with them, Shelton prioritizes his relationship with Stefani's children, as another source said:

“Blake has made Gwen’s boys a huge priority in his life and cares for them like they are his own.”

INCLUDED IN EVERY STEP

Stefani and Shelton announced their engagement on October 27 on social media, and the country crooner made sure to include the boys in the proposal as well.

Shelton had arranged for close friends and family to come over to their place. Having already asked Stefani's dad for her hand in marriage, he had a sweet proposal planned out.

While trying to get a fire lit, Shelton asked Stefani to look in a nearby cabinet for the fire starter. Instead, Stefani found the box with her engagement ring, much to her surprise and excitement.

Stefani and Shelton since set about pinning down a wedding date, which they would like to have in the summer if health regulations allow for a small gathering of friends and family.

Even though the lovebirds can't wait to tie the knot, they want the day to be special and surrounded by those they love, possibly in a chapel Shelton built on his ranch.
