Jon Gosselin, 43, from “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” revealed that he recently battled a positive COVID-19 diagnosis. On Thursday’s episode of “The Dr. Oz Show,” the former reality star appeared remotely to explain how he survived.

Dr. Mehmet Oz shared part of the clip from the show on his Twitter account. In it, Gosselin revealed that things got so bad with his infection that his step-daughter Jordan had to take him to a hospital.

Jordan is the daughter of Colleen Conrad, the woman Gosselin has been dating for several years. He shocked Oz by revealing that he had a 104.8 temperature from a fever he was battling.

The doctor noted that when a person reaches a fever with a 105-degree temperature, they would already start having seizures. The former reality star explained that he sat in the ER waiting in a wheelchair for assistance.

However, the hospital was packed and when he was eventually put on a gurney, he was taken to a temporary waiting room. Gosselin had his blood work done, and then everything after happened quickly.

The reality star, who now works as a DJ, shared how he was given antibiotics, a plasma antibody transfusion for the virus, and steroids. Then, he was moved to another room that was permanent.

All the reality star remembered after that was falling asleep, describing the experience as “surreal.” Oz asked him what his COVID-19 battle had taught him and if he had a message for his estranged children.

The former star shared that he loved his children and hoped to build a relationship with the two children that lived with him, Hannah and Collin, both 16. He also wished one day he could be with the rest of his children.

Last May, the former star also revealed that he hoped his children would start bonding together. He noted how he and his ex-wife, Kate Gosselin, didn’t live far from each other but felt there was an invisible wall between them.

Gosselin confessed that he didn’t have a problem with all his children getting together. However, he worried that the influence for them not to bond was more from his ex-wife’s side.

Luckily, Gosselin is now well on his way to recovery at home. Besides the two children (who are part of sextuplets) that live with him, the DJ has twin daughters Cara and Madelyn, 19.

The other sextuplets are Alexis, Aaden, Joel, and Leah. The twins and the rest of his sextuplets live with Kate, whom he divorced in 2009, and he has custody of the ones living with him.
