Michelle Obama made a huge announcement as she launches a cooking show for kids. She shared an adorable photo on social media.

Michelle Obama has "big news," and it involves two adorable puppet characters. The former first lady announced that she is launching a new cooking show for kids.

She announced on Instagram that she is launching a kids' TV show called "Mochi + Waffles," which will feature the two puppet characters exploring different countries, new ingredients, and interesting recipes.

Obama shared a photo of herself with the adorable characters. One puppet is inspired by the Asian dessert Mochi, while the other is blue with white fluffy hair, which has a waffle in its fur.

She shared in the caption that the show is set to premiere in March and is something she wished was around when her own daughters were growing up. She wrote:

"This is show is an extension of my work to support children’s health as First Lady—and to be quite honest, I wish a program like this had been around when my girls were young."

The show premise is that the two friends have dreams of becoming chefs. They are then employed at a magical supermarket, owned by Obama.

The two characters then go on adventures to different countries and learn about the particular country's ingredients and traditional recipes. Peru, Japan, and Italy are a few of the countries they will visit.

Obama and her husband, Barack, have been very busy post-White House.

Obama's life after the White House has seen her be involved with many altruistic initiatives. Her show has tied up with Partnership for a Healthier America.

The organization delivered fresh produce and ingredients to families in need so they could cook during the pandemic. Obama wrote about the partnership in her announcement:

"That’s why as part of the show’s commitment to helping families during the pandemic, we’re working with our partners at @PHAnews."

The mom of two shared that although the show is for children, parents will enjoy it and pick up a few tips to use in their own kitchens.

Obama and her husband, Barack, have been very busy post-White House. They both released memoirs. Obama released a documentary, "Becoming," which documented her book tour.

She launched her own production company, Higher Ground. The company's documentary, "American Factory," won an Academy Award. She is also set to launch a podcast with Spotify.

Her podcast "The Michelle Obama Podcast," is set to premiere on Spotify in July exclusively. It will feature Obama in personal conversations with guests about unique human relationships.
