Kim Kardashian's Daughter North Hugs the Family's Newest Member, a Lizard Wearing a Pink Outfit

"Keeping Up with The Kardashians" star Kim Kardashian's family just got bigger with the addition of their newest member, a lizard named Speed. The reality star took to Instagram to introduce the pet to her fans.

American media mogul Kim Kardashian already has a big family with four children, North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm West, but recently, she took on the responsibility of another family member.

Kardashian adopted a bearded dragon from a friend after her kids took a liking to the yellow-gold reptile. In her latest Instagram post, the television personality showed just how the pet, named Speed, is cared for.

Kardashian shared photos of her daughter, North, pouting her lips while holding Speed with her small hands. In another picture, the seven-year-old smiled as she held the huge reptile to her chest, showing off their matching outfits.

North and Speed were dressed in fuzzy pink jackets from Kardashian's SKIMS Cozy collection. The last picture showed three different-colored custom outfits that the reality star created for Speed.

In the caption, Kardashian described how Speed came into their lives after babysitting him for her best friend, Allison. She also revealed that North is extremely attached to the pet, which has a red jewel on its forehead. She wrote:

"I really wasn’t planning on liking Speed the way I do, but she grew on me...North and her bearded dragon go everywhere together it’s kinda cute!"

Kardashian's fans were delighted to meet Speed and loved seeing how much North loves their new pet. However, others were concerned for the well-being of the bearded dragon.

One fan commented, "North’s love for random animals is inspiring," while another added, "It’s the [SKIMS] drop for the lizard for me." An unhappy fan exclaimed, "Animals are not toys."

Despite the mixed reactions, the new family addition is an excellent distraction for the kids amid the end of their parents' marriage. Kardashian filed for divorce from her kids' father, Kanye West, in February.

Kardashian and the "Stronger" rapper's relationship had been on the rocks for months, with the pair living separately. However, both stars kept their focus on the kids.

While their four children predominantly live with Kardashian, West has been making efforts to visit and spend time with them to give them a semblance of normalcy.

For that reason, Kardashian may keep the Hidden Hills home where she has been staying with the kids, according to TMZ. West designed the house for their family, but he has been living at his Wyoming ranch for some time.
