It is officially awards season! On Monday, the Academy Awards has released its full nomination list for the 2021 Oscar Awards in the spirit of this.

In an announcement ceremony held on Monday, Nick Jonas and his wife, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, made the announcements, and as expected, it was full of some of the best movies from last year.

On the list, "Mank," the 2020 biographical film, got the highest with a total of ten nominations. This includes the Best Picture and Best Directing category. History was made as two women were nominated in the Best Directing category.

Chinese filmmaker Chloe Zhao got nominated for her amazing work in "Nomadland." Emerald Fennell's name also appeared in the category for her work on "Promising Young Woman."

Before the release of the Oscars nomination list, "Nomadland" and "Mank" were already predicted to be some of the top eligible movies for this year's award.

Many more movies, including "Promising Young Woman," "One Night in Miami," and "WolfWalkers," were also predicted to be part of the nomination list.

One special acknowledgment in the year's Oscars is Chadwick Boseman's nomination in the Best Actor in a Leading Role category for appearing in the film "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom."

If Boseman wins this, he will be the second actor to have won the category posthumously. It will also be the second for the late actor who previously won a Golden Globe for the same role.

With the current COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 Oscars, which is set to hold in April 2020, will be nothing like the previous years as many changes have been put in place.

The event was initially expected to hold in February 2021, but due to the pandemic, it was later postponed. This, however, worked out for good as the movies released through February 2021 were also allowed to make submissions.

At the upcoming event, presenters and nominees will appear physically, but most of the other festivities for the night will happen virtually in adherence to COVID-19 guidelines. However, it will undoubtedly be a fantastic night for both the fans and actors despite the changes.
