John Travolta Posts Rare Photo with Happy Son Ben after a Tragic Year for Their Family

John Travolta recently took to social media to share a rare photo of himself with his smiling son Ben. The adorable picture comes after a harrowing year for their family.

On March 13, John Travolta stated that his son Ben now has a new cat. In announcing the news, the actor, 67, shared a photo of himself and his son, 10, with the kitten on Instagram.

Adding to the cuteness of the shot, Travolta cradles his son in his arms while Ben embraces the cat. The doting father captioned the snap: "Ben's new cat Crystal."

The new family pet gets a nod of approval from Travolta's daughter, Ella, who commented on the photo with a trio of heart-emojis. The actor's post was well-received by fans, too.

It amassed more than 400,000 likes in no time. Many people left kind remarks in the comments section as well. One person wrote: "Crystal is Beautiful, Ben! Looks like she loves you a lot [sic]."

Earlier this year, Ella sent her father some sweet words on his birthday, along with a family photo. The 20-year-old had referred to her father as the most amazing man she had ever known.

According to Ella, Travolta is not just her father but also her best friend. She expressed to her dad her appreciation for loving them and for all the good things he does every day.

Recent months have seen Travolta and Ella make headlines for their close bond.

In 1991, Travolta exchanged his wedding vows with the late actress, Kelly Preston. She is the mother of Ella and Ben, as well as Jett, who died in 2009 while on vacation in the Bahamas.

A two-year fight with breast cancer ended in July 2020 with Preston's death. She was 57. Although Preston was a significant part of his life, Travolta held onto her spirit through memories.

Travolta and Preston, who first met on the 1988 film "The Experts," last worked together in the 2018 film "Gotti," in which Travolta played John Gotti, along with Preston as his wife, Victoria.

Two months after Preston passed away, Travolta returned to social media. A pic of him and Ella posing for a group selfie was shared by the actor. On that day, he celebrated Tommy Lee's wife's birthday.

Recent months have seen Travolta and Ella make headlines for their close bond. Back in February, the actor starred alongside his daughter in a Super Bowl LV commercial.
