See the Moment Prince William & Harry Were Spotted Deep in Conversation after Prince Philip's Funeral
Prince William and Prince Harry were spotted walking together and in deep conversation after Prince Philip's funeral.
Prince William, Prince Harry, and other members of the royal family came together on Saturday, April 17, 2021, to mourn the death of Prince Philip at St. Georges Chapel at Windsor Castle.
The brothers walked behind Prince Philip's coffin during the procession, ahead of the funeral. However, their cousin, Princess Anne's son, Mr. Peter Phillips, walked between them.
During the ceremony, the brothers did not sit next to each other. Prince William sat with his wife Kate Middleton, while Prince Harry sat opposite the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
However, at the end of the funeral, Harry and William were spotted walking together. In a video that shows the family exiting the chapel, Harry and William can be seen standing together talking to other family members.
As the attendees start departing from the chapel, Harry follows Prince William and Middleton and joins them. The three are seen walking together and appear to be conversing.
After a minute of walking the grounds of Windsor Castle, Middleton leaves the two brothers and starts talking to Zara Tindall. The two brothers then appear to be in a deep conversation as they continue to walk.
This is the first time the pair have spoken in person in over a year. Although Harry arrived in the UK on Sunday, he had to quarantine for five days at Frogmore Cottage as he flew from California.
The Daily Mail reported that Prince Harry held two hours of peace talks with Prince William after the funeral. The brothers were also joined by their father, Prince Charles, in Windsor Castle, away from cameras.
Royal spectators hoped that Prince Philip's funeral would be an opportunity for the brothers to work on their relationship.
According to the outlet, Prince Harry might delay his flight back to the US, his pregnant wife, and their almost two-year-old son, Archie, so that he can attend Queen Elizabeth's birthday.
The Queen's birthday is on Wednesday. Prince Harry booked an open flight, meaning he can travel later to accommodate his grandmother's birthday, which will be her first one without her beloved husband.
Many senior royal family members and royal spectators hoped that Prince Philip's funeral would be an opportunity for the brothers to work on their relationship, which was exacerbated by Prince Harry's revealing interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Prince William and Prince Harry are set to make a public appearance at an unveiling of a statue of their mother, Princess Diana, on what would be her 60th birthday in July this year.
