Nicole Kidman took to Instagram to share a photo of her sitting on the floor of her hotel room, looking at the television screen in front of her. This is how the Australian star watched the 2021 Oscars.

Dressed down in a pretty white blouse and blue jeans with her curly hair tied up, Kidman skipped the formality of the prestigious awards ceremony and traded it in for the comfort and leisure of her hotel room.

CARRYING ON TRADITIONS

The "Big Little Lies" actress is no stranger to the Oscars, having won an award for her role as Virginia Woolf in the 2003 movie "The Hours." She has also reeled in three nominations since.

But Kidman doesn't seem too bothered to be trading in her formal gown for jeans as she explained that the more homely approach to the Oscars is actually a tradition that was started in her childhood. She wrote in her caption:

"Sitting crossed legged on the floor watching the #Oscars... Been doing this since I was a little girl ✨."

BUSY SCHEDULE

The 53-year-old's virtual viewing of the Oscars may be because of the demanding working schedule that didn't allow her to pinch off the time to attend the award ceremony in Los Angeles.

Faith and Sunday do not make regular appearances in the spotlight, but their parents allowed them to sit with them.

Kidman has been hard at work on the set of "Being The Ricardos," where she portrays Lucille Ball's character. She was spotted working alongside her co-star Javier Bardem last week.

EMBRACING THE HOME LIFE

The Australian native has embraced her more grounded lifestyle with more time spent at home since the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Kidman recently shared that she likes to spoil and pamper her family at home, saying:

"Sometimes, though, I'll treat my whole family to a spa day and massage their feet and give them pedicures."

Kidman shares her two daughters, Sunday Rose, 12, and Faith Margaret, 10, with her country star husband, Keith Urban. The two tied the knot in 2006. Kidman also shares her two adopted children with her ex-husband Tom Cruise.

GOLDEN GLOBES APPEARANCE

The unique take on award ceremonies forced by the pandemic opened the door for Kidman and Urban to invite their two daughters to attend the Golden Globes with them virtually this year.

Faith and Sunday do not make regular appearances in the spotlight, but their parents allowed them to sit with them as they watched the ceremony from their couch, both dressed in white dresses.

Surrounded by three females, Urban regularly has to find time on his own. Kidman shared that the country singer will sit in a closet and play his guitar to find some quiet in their household.

The actress also shared another sign that her husband is stressing when he starts looking up vehicles on the internet. Both the father and his youngest daughter enjoy looking up cars online.
