Heavily Pregnant Olympian Shawn Johnson Shows off Her Baby Bump in a Ruby Leotard

Shawn Johnson, who is pregnant with her second child, posted a picture showing off her baby bump and sporting the ruby leotard she wore during one of the competitions wherein she competed.

The last time Shawn Johnson East wore this leotard was during a gymnastics competition a decade ago. She had no idea it would eventually be repurposed as maternity clothing.

The Olympic medalist's second child is due this summer, and she shared an Instagram snap on June 13 showcasing her baby bump and donning the same ruby leotard she wore for the 2011 Pan American Games.

"Guess it's now a tradition," Shawn, who is the 2008 Olympic balance beam gold medalist, wrote in the caption. She added the hashtags "weird" and "slightlycreepy" to her new social media update.

In the photo, Shawn is seen smiling while looking at the camera. She and her husband Andrew East informed the world earlier this year that they would be expecting a second child.

Before this post, Shawn mentioned that her husband was the one who influenced her decision to wear leotards during pregnancy. She shared a clip showing her and Andrew in various outfits, including the leotard.

In April 2019, the couple, who tied the knot in 2016, announced they were expecting their first child.

"Anddddddd he convinced me to do it again," she captioned the adorable video, "Just wait for the end..... (no idea how I got it on) [sic]." In the comments section, Andrew commented that she looked like a queen.

The football long snapper uploaded his own video of his wife posing in her leotards, facing the camera for the first few seconds, and then shifting to the side in order to show off her growing baby bump.

Last month, Shawn demonstrated to her husband what it is like to carry a baby by using weights. In a video she uploaded to Instagram, the gymnast is shown trying to secure a 14-pound ball to Andrew's stomach.

After a few moments, the extra weight has him groaning. Andrew told his wife that he is feeling it already in his upper and lower backs. According to him, both his quadriceps appear to be exhausted already.

While pregnant, Shawn shared updates of her growing baby bump on both her and her baby's Instagram pages. On their YouTube channel, she and Andrew also shared their experiences.
