HOW THEY MET

Many believe Luyendyk and Burnham met on "The Bachelor," but that is not exactly true. The duo met before, precisely three months before the show started filming.

During an exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight last August, Burnham revealed that she met Luyendyk at a racetrack in 2017.

She, however, added not knowing he was cast as the lead on the show until it was announced during an episode of "Good Morning America."

Though Burnham believes she met Luyendyk before the show for a reason, things did not go very smoothly for the couple in the beginning.

A ROUGH BEGINNING

Burnham was one of the two ladies that made it to the season finale, meaning Luyendyk was to choose between her and the other finalist Becca Kufrin.

Interestingly, Luyendyk took Burnham on a date, told her he loved her, only to send her home at the finale. He would later propose to Kufrin.

Things, however, took a turn when Luyendyk broke off his engagement to Kufrin only two months after the televised proposal. What happened next was not something many saw coming.

ENGAGEMENT AND WEDDING

Luyendyk broke off his engagement to Kufrin and proposed to Burnham because he felt he had made a mistake, and she was really who he wanted to be with.

Speaking on his engagement to Burnham, Luyendyk described it as the best decision he had made, adding that he believed her to be his soulmate.

Following the proposal, Luyendyk and Burnham went on a vacation in Europe, during which they continued to show off their love for each other.

In May 2018, the couple announced their wedding plans for the next year, and a few months later, the pair moved into their Phoenix home together.

Less than a year after sharing their wedding plans, Luyendyk and Burnham got married in an exclusive ceremony in Hawaii. And so the happily ever after fairytale began.

PARENTHOOD JOURNEY

In November 2018, just two months before tying the knot, Burnham and Luyendyk announced that they were expecting their first child together.

Six months later, the couple welcomed a baby girl in May 2019 and took to social media to excitedly share the news with their fans.

Sadly, precisely one year later, Burnham and Luyendyk revealed that they suffered a miscarriage, adding that they shared the story to let other couples know they were not alone.

But the couple continued trying, and soon enough, they had good news. In December 2020, Burnham and Luyendyk revealed they were expecting twins.

In June 2021, the couple welcomed their twins, a boy and a girl, and expectedly took to their respective social media pages to share the good news.

Shortly after, Luyendyk asked fans to put her and their newborn daughter in prayers as the infant had to stay back in the hospital due to breathing problems.

The new mom shared her disappointment over not being able to take her newborn home with her. She described it as a bittersweet experience but maintained a positive stance.

A few days later, the couple brought their daughter home and finally revealed the twins' names to be Senna James and Lux Jacob.

Luyendyk described having his daughter home as an early father's day present and shared his excitement over the new development.

But while parenting might come with its challenging moments, Luyendyk and Burnham seemingly have no fears; as long as they have each other, life is a lot easier!
