The docu-film was directed by gurus Leo Scott and Ting Poo, and it details some of Kilmer’s struggles in recent years. From the trailer, Kilmer’s voice appears different from what it used to be when he had the world in his hands.

The actor’s voice was affected by his battle with throat cancer and subsequent tracheostomy. In the voiceover of the documentary, the 61-year-old could be heard talking about his battle with cancer and stating that he is still recovering.

Although Kilmer’s voice has changed considerably from what it used to be, it has not changed his desire to share his emotional life stories and many battles with his fans and followers.

As different images flashed through the screen, Kilmer could be heard in the background saying that he spent several decades finding his voice in his many characters and movies.

In the teaser, Kilmer reflected on his life, noting that he had behaved poorly and bravely. Some scenes showed the “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang” actor with a voice box on his neck.

Before making his documentary, Kilmer had previously denied rumors that he is down with throat cancer. In 2016, he took to Facebook to refute claims by Michael Douglas of his health condition.

Kilmer later confirmed that he indeed had cancer. Despite his health challenges in recent years, Kilmer’s daughter Mercedes hopes her dad will be an inspiration to other actors with disabilities.
