Piers Morgan Compares Himself to Simone Biles in New Article – Twitter Users Outraged
Controversial journalist Piers Morgan has once again found himself receiving end of Twitter users' outrage after he wrote an article criticizing Simone Biles.
Piers Morgan, who's known for his outrageous articles, has once again found himself on the wrong side of Twitter after he expressed his opinion on Simone Biles quitting the Olympics.
Biles was leading the USA team in competing for the Gold medal, together with her team in the gymnastics category, but made a mistake in her first exercise, and instead of doing two half twists in the air, she did one.

Biles, who's known to pick herself up, dust herself, and go for the Gold, quit, leaving her team without a leader. Biles admitted to not having any physical injuries but credited her quitting to her mental state.
She said she was not having any fun at the Olympics, adding that she felt she was doing it for others and not for herself, which would be how she wanted it. She wrote on her Instagram:
" I truly do feel like I have the weight of the world on my shoulders at times. I know I brush it off and make it seem like pressure doesn’t affect me but sometimes it’s hard."
Biles blamed social media for her self-doubt, saying that some tweets made her feel like she was carrying the world's weight, stating that besides being athletes, they are human, and sometimes they need to step back.
Morgan was having none of it and criticized her decision, saying that she was not supposed to be playing for herself, seeing as she was team USA, and millions of people back home were watching and supporting her.
Twitter users were outraged at Morgans' outburst reminding him that he had walked out of Good Morning Britain following a heated argument with a coworker over Morgan's comments about Meghan Markle.
Others asked for just a little understanding from him as he did not understand what was happening with her. Another asked him to stop being so judgmental, saying that Biles was more of a role model than Morgan ever will be.

Another Twitter user posted a clip of Morgan storming out of the set of Good Morning Britain, asking if that was the same person castigating Biles for quitting. The irony of the comment was not lost.
Morgan jumped to his own defense, saying that even though he only left for a few minutes before returning to his desk, he was branded a coward by Twitter users. So he wonders why Biles was being branded inspiring, heroic, and brave for quitting.
Even though he admits that it was "gutless and cowardly" of him to walk off, he says he had the courage to get back and face the heat, something Biles did not do for her team.
Biles later took to her Instagram to celebrate her team after they won a silver medal. She congratulated her team, Chiles, McCallum, and Lee, for stepping up when she couldn't. She wrote:
"I'll forever be inspired by your determination to not give up and to fight through adversity! They stepped up when I couldn't. thanks for being there for me and having my back! forever love y'all."
Following the outrage, fans and celebrities in equal measure have come out to show their support to Biles for doing what she felt was best for her and her team.
Congresswoman Cori Bush took to Twitter to show her support to Biles, emphasizing the need to take mental health and peace more seriously. She also expressed her support for Naomi Osaka, who'd quit the French open for the same reasons.
Hoda Kotb called Biles a class act for staying and cheering on her team even after she withdrew from the competition. She added that in staying behind to see her team bag the silver medal, she already won.
Loni Love urged Biles to protect her peace at all costs, reminding her that she was and would always be a champion.
