Smokey Robinson's great looks have been passed down the family lines to his granddaughter, Lyric, and she has no reservations about flaunting it. This she did in a recent post where she looked leggy in a short black dress.

Smokey Robinson was born to an African-American father and a mother of African-American and French ancestry; no wonder his good looks have always been the topic of many online and offline conversations.

Even though he's Black, he has fair skin and remarkable irises. At some point in the past, there was a rumor that his stage name "Smokey" was given to him by his uncle because he was light-skinned, but the singer denied it.

The women related to Smokey Robinson by blood directly or indirectly have all inherited those good looks. His daughter looks just like his granddaughter Lyric, who enjoys traveling and taking pictures of herself.

Very recently, Lyric took to her Instagram page with a montage of pictures taken during her visit to a Grape field. She was accompanied by a male friend and was dressed gorgeously in a mini black dress that showcased her cleavage.

It was coupled with high cowboy boots and complemented with a black baseball cap, a bright blouse, and a small bag. According to the location attached to the post, the Grape Fields Lyric and her friend visited was located in Temecula, California.

One shot captured her grinning happily as she posed with a Grape stalk still attached to the plant, and another was a picture that saw her holding a cup of wine in her hand.

In her caption, Lyric revealed that her birthstone is a "wine cork" before asking her followers about theirs. A majority ignored her question to focus on how great she looked in the post. One user declared her "the prettiest human," while another tagged her a "perfect woman."

It's all thanks to her good genes, all of which she inherited from her parents, who got it from Smokey Robinson. So here are a few things to note about him.

HOW OLD IS HE NOW?

On February 19, 1940, Smokey Robinson was born into a poverty-stricken family at the North End of Detroit. He marked his 78th birthday in 2018, which makes him eighty-one years old.

At some stage in his childhood, he reportedly lived several houses away from the legendary Aretha Franklin. But, according to him, he had known her since she was five.

SMOKEY HAD A CHILD OUT OF WEDLOCK

Smokey is currently married to Frances Robinson. They tied the knot in May 2002. Before marrying her, he was with Claudette Rogers, his former fellow Miracles band member. Their relationship resulted in the birth of two kids, son Berry Robinson and daughter Tamla Robinson.

In 1984, Smokey welcomed another son with another woman. It was during his marriage to Claudette, and it was the wedge that drove them apart. Their divorce came after he admitted his sin, and he filed for it. It was granted in 1986.

His relationship with Claudette ended sadly, but the singer has stated in the past that he did love her at the time; however, because of his nature, he had been easily seduced by beautiful strangers.

ADVICE TO HIS YOUNGER SELF

Smokey is one of the Hollywood greats and has led a fulfilled life and career so far. But, with all the years of experience he now has, he knows precisely what he wishes his younger self knew.

He told Closer Weekly while attending the Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party: "Slow down, be cool and wait because it's gonna happen (laughs), and you can't rush it, and you don't want to rush it because you want it to last for as long as you can."

Given all that he has faced, it is useful advice that could have perhaps spared him some heartache, but if that had happened, his fans might know a different Smokey now. This one is fine, just as he is.
